What is CMI Medical Missions?

Matt Tincher had been doing mission trips with his family since he was a teenager, long before becoming a doctor.  He invited one of his colleagues Walter Stephens to go with him to Honduras on a medical mission in 2007.  This was Walter's first mission trip, but he immediately understood Matt's passion for bringing medical care to areas of the world that do not have this type of access. They decided after that trip to start an organization that would not only provide medical care to under resourced areas but also enable others to share in this experience.  Walter's sister, Tracia Jungkurth, had started Christopher Ministries, Inc. as a Bible based ministry to share the God of comfort.  This provided a natural opportunity for what Matt and Walter wanted to do. Christopher Ministries International Medical Missions, or CMI Medical Missions, was founded in 2008.  The following year, Todd Moore was invited to join the organization after he went on a trip and it was evident that he shared the same calling as Matt and Walter. Although not a physician, Todd brings a wealth of knowledge and experience in healthcare and administrative talents.  CMI has partnered in the past with local churches to provide medical clinics in Honduras and most recently in Haiti.

Dr. Walter Stephens		Dr. Walter Stephens - Executive Director Walter is a Family Physician and runs Covenant Medical Group in Dickson, TN.  He has four daughters, Sara, Erin, Lauren, and Leah. He has been married to Laurie for 23 years.  His oldest daughters and Laurie have joined him on several trips to Honduras.  Walter and his family attend Cross Point Community Church in Dickson, TN.
Dr. Matt Tincher		Dr. Matt Tincher - Chief Medical Officer Matt is the medical director for the Emergency Department at Horizon Medical Center in Dickson, TN.   He has been married to Erin for seven years and they have three sons Sam, Ben, and Eli.  Erin is a Physicians Assistant and has traveled with Matt to provide medical care in some of the most remote places in Honduras. Matt, Erin, and their three sons attend Hendersonville Community Church in Hendersonville, TN.
Todd Moore		Todd Moore - Chief Operating Officer Todd has been with Murfreesboro based National HealthCare Corporation for over 15 years. and currently serves as the Executive Director for McKendree Village in Hermitage, TN. He has two sons, Henry and Jake.  He has been married to Christy for 16 years.  His teenage son Henry traveled with the team to Honduras last year.  Todd and his family attend Hendersonville Community Church in Hendersonville, TN.
